The new president of the Nimba County Community College’s Rev. Dr. Yaah Gono

The newly appointed President of the Nimba County Community College Rev. Dr. Yaah Gono has arrived in Sanniquellie. Rev. Dr. Gono is visiting the newly established Nimba County Community College. Speaking to cross section of students, parents, and educational authorities on Wednesday, 27, 2010, at the College auditorium in Sanniquellie, Madam Gono promised to standardize the College in the County. Dr. Gono who said “education is the path way in the world”, she hopes to develop Nimba because according to her, children are the future leaders of the Country. She also said that her dream is to educate the entire youths of Nimba. Dr. Gono also promised that when it comes to employing people at the College it will be balanced, to avoid ethnic problem in the County. Also speaking, the Director General of High Education in Liberia, Dr. Michael Slawon commended Dr. Gono for accepting her appointment in the County. Dr. Slawon told the students at the welcoming program to take advantage of the opportunity in the County. Nimba County Education Officer, Mr. George S.S. Wuo thanked Dr. Gono for returning home to help the reconstruction of Liberia, especially the Human Recourse Department of Liberia.

Emmanuel Flomo Committed Suicide In Sanniquellie, Nimba County Liberia While In Police Custody.

A twenty-five year old man identified as Emmanuel Flomo has allegedly committed suicide in Police custody in Sanniquellie, Nimba County. According to the report, the incident occurred on Sunday 24 October 2010. The deceased was accused of stealing a pair of shoes from an unknown individual who lives within the Sanniquellie community.

The body of the late Emmanuel Flomo was later removed from the Police cell where he allegedly committed suicide and was taken to the Government referral hospital, G.W. Harley hospital by Police Officers and other Doctors to conduct an autopsy. Parents and relatives of the deceased have refused to take possession of the body. They clamed that he was beaten to death. However the parents and relatives accepted the body.
